Awarded Guinness World Record, the Green Roof Award of Excellence in 2004, and certified by the Wildlife Habitat Council (WHC) for both habitat and Corporate Lands for Learning.

Dearborn, Michigan, USA
10.4 acres, 450,000 square feet
Installed in 2002, it is the world’s largest green roof using Xero Flor’s patented lightweight extensive system. Needs very little or no irrigation.

Scientific research on green roofs: The Michigan State University’s Horticultural Department conducted research projects on plant species, establishment and succession, substrate composition and depth, water and nutrient requirements, runoff quality and quantity, roof thermal properties and carbon sequestration potential for green roofs.
